Doctor Tadas Ramanauskas is specialist from Lithuania who was studying surgery at the Hospital of Lithuanian, University of Health Science Kauno Klinikos. Under the medical studies in university and later under general surgeon studies Tadas was active in diferent scientific research programs. Doctor Tadas Ramanauskas was accepted to Doctoral studies at Ruprecht Karl University of Heidelberg (Germany) and did research in pancreatitis and pancreas cancer pathogenesis at the European Pancreatic Research Center. Thesis for degree of doctor of medicine (MD) was maintained. After General surgery residency in Lithuania doctor Ramanauskas worked 7 years as upper GI tract surgeon at Sahlgrenska University Hospital/Östra (Gothenburg, Sweden). The main field was Obesitas surgery (Gastric bypass, sleeve gastrectomy, treatment of complications after obesitas surgery) and gallstones surgical treatment such as laparoscopic gallbladder operations. Doctor Ramanauskas treated patients who had stones in bile duct and patients with cancer in upper GI tract who needed more advanced help like ERCP, PTC, gallbladder drainage or palliativ treatmen. Under work at Sahlgrenska University Hospital/Östra (Gothenburg, Sweden) he operated patients who had all type of hernia such as umbilical hernia, abdominal wall hernia, parastomal hernia, incisional hernia, inguinal hernia, femoral hernia, Spigelian hernia or m. rectus abdominis diastase problem. Patients were treated under open or laparoscopic surgery.
Doctor Tadas Ramanauskas loves to spend free time in nature, thus later moved to live in North Norway. The last years is Tadas working at the Department of General Surgery at University Hospital of North Norway (UNN, Narvik). He is senior consultant and treat patients who need hernia operations, gallstones surgical treatment, have hemorrhoids or anal fistula problems, need large or small bowels surgery. He performs gastroscopy and help patiens who has stomach ulcus or reflux problems. Tadas has palliativ treatmen experience with patients who have upper or lower GI cancer. He is also active in supervision and training of young resident doctors and gives lectures for medical students as a part of his faculty lectures.
