Professional profile
Professor Dankovčík is an experienced expert doctor in the medical field of Gynecology and Obstetrics, prenatal and expert gynecological ultrasonographic diagnostics, fetomaternal medicine and minimally invasive surgical laparoscopic treatment.
After completing his studies in general medicine at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Pavel Jozef Šafárik, he joined in 1992 as an assistant at the II. Gynecology and Obstetrics Clinic of the Faculty of Medicine UPJŠ and UN L. Pasteur in Košice, later as an assistant professor, since 2010 as a docent and since 2017 as a university professor in the field of Gynecology and Obstetrics. From 2004 until now, he has been working in the position of deputy head of the Gynecology and Obstetrics Clinic.
Professor Dankovčík is a recognized expert in the field of ultrasound prenatal diagnosis of congenital developmental defects of the fetus. He is a pioneer in prenatal diagnosis in the first trimester and was the first in Slovakia to receive a certificate for diagnosis at the Fetal Medicine Foundation in London in 2001. Since 2008, he has been organizing multi-day intensive courses in gynecological-obstetrical sonography together with the Vienna International School of Ultrasound. He is the author of over 200 professional publications and 170 lectures in the field of prenatal sonography and fetomaternal medicine. In addition to professional clinical practice and teaching practice, he works in the private prenatal diagnosis center SonoClinic s.r.o. He is the scientific secretary of the Slovak Society for Ultrasound in Medicine, a member of the Slovak Gynecological Society SLS committee and a consultant of the ÚDZS in the field of Gynecology and Obstetrics.
