Doctor Peter Lipták is a certified gastroenterologist with 12 years of experience specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the digestive tract. He mainly focuses on irritable bowel syndrome, functional dyspepsia, reflux disease of the esophagus, chronic abdominal pain, constipation or incontinence. In addition to clinical practice, he also researches these diseases. He participated in the creation of methodological recommendations for the diagnosis and treatment of bacterial overgrowth syndrome in the small intestine in Slovakia and is currently working as a co-researcher on the creation of Czech-Slovak methodological recommendations for the implementation and interpretation of the results of anorectal manometry used to diagnose emptying disorders. Dr. Lipták introduced into clinical practice examination by 3D anorectal manometry, systematic investigation of the displacement of contents in the large intestine used in the diagnosis of constipation, and non-invasive treatment of emptying disorders (home biofeedback with local stimulation).

In addition to clinical practice, he is engaged in research and solving several multicenter studies, the results of which were published in foreign journals. As part of his scientific activities, he worked for 12 months at a prestigious foreign university (Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, USA), where he participated in research on the innervation of the digestive tract. He later completed a clinical internship at the world-renowned gastroenterology clinic “Centro Mallatie Apparato Digerente, Fondazione Policlinico Universitario Agostine Gemelli” in Rome, Italy. He actively presents his scientific results and knowledge from clinical practice at important foreign congresses in his field.
