Professional profile
Dr. Andrea Letanovská is an anesthesiologist, intensivist and emergency physician with extensive experience. Degree MUDr. obtained at the Comenius University Faculty of Medicine in Bratislava and has specializations (attestations I+II) in the fields of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine and Emergency Medicine. She started her professional practice in the field of anesthesiology and intensive care medicine at the FNsP in Prešov at II. Clinic of anesthesiology and resuscitation, where in addition to working in the hospital, she also worked in the emergency medical service. Over the years, she has built a private practice in a one-day surgery center with a wide portfolio of procedures. After the first and second attestation in anesthesiology and resuscitation, she focused on emergency medicine and after passing the attestation, she led the Operation Center of the emergency medical service. She defended her PhD degree at the Surgical Clinic of LF SZU in Bratislava with the topic of management of the polytraumatized patient upon admission to the hospital. She was an advisor to the World Health Organization for the assessment of crisis preparedness of emergency health care (EHC) systems in Europe, she worked on the preparation of the minimum standards of EHC in Europe. She completed a study stay in Michigan, USA at the Emergency Department of Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. During clinical practice, she guided undergraduate and postgraduate students, currently as a professional assistant for undergraduate medical studies in the subject of anesthesiology and intensive care medicine I. KAIM LF UK and an external teacher for emergency medicine as a postgraduate specialized study at LF SZU Bratislava.
Since 2017, she has been working at the National Oncology Institute, where she currently heads the Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine (OAIM) with a focus on oncology patients. In this field, she is also an invited expert speaker at national and international professional conferences. As a long-standing forensic expert in the fields of Anesthesiology, intensive care medicine and emergency medicine, she prepares expert reports for courts, law firms, medical facilities, and for private individuals in resolving legal disputes.
