Professional profile
Professor Miloš Jeseňák is a renowned clinical immunologist, allergist and pediatrician. He studied general medicine at the Jessenius Faculty of Medicine of the Comenius University in Martin. Subsequently, he completed several study stays abroad, primarily at the 2. Faculty of Medicine, University of La Sapienza, Rome, Italy.
Professor Miloš Jeseňák gradually acquired specializations in the field of pediatrics, clinical immunology and allergology, adolescent medicine, pediatric pneumology and phthisiology, and health management and financing. In his practice as well as in his scientific and research activities, he deals with all age categories, from childhood to the period of seniority. It focuses on the issues of congenital and acquired immune disorders, periodic fever syndromes, congenital and acquired forms of angioedema, severe forms of allergic diseases of the respiratory tract and skin, rare diseases of the immune system, as well as the issue of vaccination in special situations. He is part of many international working groups for congenital immune disorders, vaccination and the issue of angioedema. Evidence of his scientific and research activity is a number of publications in domestic and foreign professional and scientific journals with a large number of citations. He actively participates in many national but especially foreign and international events.
Professor Miloš Jeseňák holds the position of regional expert for the field of clinical immunology and allergology, is the president of the Slovak Society of Allergology and Clinical Immunology and is a member of the committee of the Slovak Pediatric Society. He is a member of the Scientific Council of the Ministry of Health of the Slovak Republic. He is the head of the Department of Clinical Immunology and Allergology at the Martin University Hospital. He currently works at the University Hospital in three departments – the Clinic for Children and Adolescents, the Clinic for Pneumology and Phthisiology and the Department of Clinical Immunology and Allergology. At the same time, he is a university professor at the Jessenius Medical Faculty of the Charles University in Martin. He is a member of several national and international professional societies.
